Remove Mac Heal Pro virus

Stay on top of the Mac Heal Pro virus issue affecting Mac computers, learn its adverse characteristics and get a viable method to get rid of this annoying app.

Mac scareware authors continue to diversify their portfolio. Their latest contrivance called Mac Heal Pro is the new black on this expanding arena. It wrongfully poses as a system utility with advanced Mac analysis, security, and stability features on board. At first sight, these claims may even appear credible as the user console seems competently designed and the built-in functions look competitive. However, the original impression is delusive. The app reports numerous issues that aren’t there and exhibits persistence mechanisms inherent to garden-variety malware. On top of that, it slithers its way into a Mac on the sly so that the user is clueless about the trespass until the nag screens, counterfeit scans and popup dialogs start inundating the plagued machine and the situation slips out of the victim’s control.

The Mac Heal Pro virus is not revolutionary by any means, though. Just like its counterparts from the same malware lineage, such as Mac Cleanup Pro and Mac Auto Fixer, it rides along the well-trodden road of phony system cleanup while introducing hardly any novelty. The culprit estimates the severity level for each of the allegedly monitored Mac areas as poor, no matter how healthy the system actually is. Even when running on a brand-new computer with nothing third-party installed and no browsing history at all, the pseudo optimizer will undoubtedly spot thousands of privacy risks, a couple of potentially unwanted add-ons, numerous junk files, failed downloads, and malicious LaunchAgents. Going further down the attack chain, it is likely to cause memory congestion on purpose and thereby make it look like the system’s condition is rapidly deteriorating. The recurrent popup alerts appearing in between the rogue scans can additionally crank up the user’s frustration. All of these hallmarks are clear giveaways that should give the victim a heads-up and encourage them to eradicate the misbehaving parasite as soon as possible.

What’s the motivation of whoever is in charge of the Mac Heal Pro virus campaign? It boils down to easy financial gain. When generating bogus scan results and popup reminders, the aggressive program emphasizes that the only way to fix the issues is to purchase the license. The registration is a matter of paying at least $14.95, which is a monthly fee and at the same time a complete waste of money. The pseudo service imposed by Mac Heal Pro isn’t worth a penny spent, so we strongly advise against following the demands of its unscrupulous makers.

This perpetrating utility is propagating in an old school way. The scheme known as bundling has propped multiple similar campaigns, and this one is no exception. The virus infects Macs in the course of installations where the main app is something entirely different. The catch is that the default setup option doesn’t provide any details of what else is under the same umbrella. Consequently, those who don’t select the custom setup mode and fail to read the fine print run the risk of being infected while thinking they are installing some benign free application, such as a media player, Flash Player update or similar.

Removing Mac Heal Pro isn’t as easy as getting into the Applications folder and sending the pest to the Trash.
